HEIA undertakes data collection activities for research and statistical purposes.

HEIA only collects publicly available information, sourced from various public websites and social media platforms. All data collected is anonymised and no personal information is intentionally collected or used in HEIA’s research or business ventures.

In cases where individuals have included personal information in usernames or the content of their posts, it may be collected unintentionally. Any personal information identified is deleted and we do not provide any such information to third parties or use it in our analyses.

All HEIA’s data is encrypted and stored through an online cloud service, keeping it secure. Only certain staff members are permitted access to this data.

HEIA may share information to relevant authorities in circumstances where it has been determined that a user poses a significant risk of harm to others.

Users are not individually notified of the collection of their public posting. However, information about the project, including that regarding HEIA’s data collection, is publicly available online.
